Udupi: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt has broken his silence on the recent moral policing incident in Mangalore and has said that he strongly condemned the incident wherein boys and girls were attacked by Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists at the Morning Mist Stay Home.
In a press communiqué the seer said he strongly condemned the incident wherein the activists took law into their hands.
At the same time the seer said there was a need to probe into the complaint that the youngsters were taking to liquor and were dancing obscenely at the stay home. “Isn’t there a need to probe the illegal activities reportedly underway in the stay home?,” the seer questioned?
He also asked whether it was not the duty of the citizens to protest against immoral activities. The seer at the same time questioned how such immoral activities can be brought under check if police are apathetic.
The seer further stressed the need to create awareness on the issue and urged people to come together and stage protest.
He said it is not enough if youngsters merely condemn the incident, they should also condemn the immoral behaviour of the students.
