Mangalore: The Mangalore City Corporation as well as the Tourism Department have served notices to the Morning Mist Stay Home near Padil in Mangalore, after it was found that the Stay Home was operating unauthorisedly. The notices have been pasted on the front doors of the Stay Home. If the MCC Notice has asked the Stay Home owners to reply within 24 hours, the Tourism Department Show Cause notice has given a seven day deadline to come out with an explanation. This development after the Stay Home was the centre of controversy following the recent attack on students partying there, by Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists.
The notice served by the Health Department of the MCC said the residential building was being used for commercial purposes without any permission of the authorities. The notice has also questioned why such a building which has flouted rules should not be closed down.
