Udupi: Hindu leaders under the aegis of the Hindu Jana Jagrithi Samithi have lodged complaint against an Islamic preacher named Dr Zakir Naik, accusing the latter of offending Hindu Gods and Goddesses and thus hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.

The complaint has been lodged in the town police station. The Samithi has also lodged complaints in Pune, Panvel and Mumbai police stations.

Several Hindu leaders including Chittaranjan Hegde of VHP, Vijay Kumar of Janajagrithi Vedike, Harshavardhan Malpe of Hindu Yuva Sene were in the delegation that lodged the complaint with the Udupi police.
