Bangalore : Housing Minister V Somanna on Tuesday hinted that he would not join the Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) of B S Yeddyurappa, saying he did not want to repeat the mistakes of the past.
“I do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past. The last three years with Yeddyurappa had been a great experience. I am not avoiding him. I have already informed him (Yeddyurappa) about my decision,” he told reporters.
He, however, refused to elaborate on his mistake. Somanna, who is a known party-hopper, was one of the staunch followers of Yeddyurappa. He joined the BJP in 2009, after quitting the Congress to become a minister in Yeddyurappa’s Cabinet.
The Housing Minister, who became emotional, skirted the question as to how Yeddyurappa reacted when he conveyed his decision. He also denied reports in a section of the media that he would be rejoining the Congress.
He said he had enough experience in public life to take his own political decision. “I have my own opinion and stand in politics. I have worked hard to come up in public life. I will take an appropriate decision on my future in about two months,” he stated.-DH News
