Bangalore : Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka on Monday predicted that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, who quit the BJP and has floated his own political party, will return to his parent party, like Uma Bharati in Madhya Pradesh and Kalyan Singh in Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters, he said Yeddyurappa’s Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) will not affect the BJP’s electoral prospects in the next Assembly elections. “The BJP is a national party. Its roots are strong. Moreover, it is a party of workers. Individuals are not important. Hence, nobody can damage the party,” he stated.
Asked whether the KJP will destabilise the BJP government, he said nobody can topple the government. Several attempts were made in the last four years to destabilise the government, but they failed, he added.-DH News
