Mangalore : D M Aslam, JD(S) district minority unit president expressed his happiness for the victory of Congress party in majority of constituency.
Speaking at the press meet held at hotel Woodlands Hall on May 10, Friday, he said that he himself had campaigned for Congress and urged many minorities to cast their votes to Congress and not to JD(S).
He also said that he had even printed the handbills supporting Congress and distributed it in the ward number 42 and 45.
Aslam also said that he would not allow SP Changappa to contest in Mangalore South Constituency but with the influence of many leaders he got seat.
He said that all were sure that he will not get more than 1000 votes, but he got 1,600 votes but was the shameful count since during the previous election JD(S) had gained 10,500 votes, he said.
Sadik, Rehamathulla, Imran and Sattar were present at the press meet.
