Udupi  : IGP Western Range Pratap Reddy has informed that eight police teams have been formed to apprehend  the accused in the case of gang rape of a medical student at Manipal on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the police department would step up efforts to apprehend the culprits at the earliest. He said the department already has got some clues, said more details cannot be revealed. He also refused to divulge the place where the incident took place.

Stating that the Special Team would try to speak to the victim if her  health permits and also the doctors treating on her.

He said the State Home Minister KJ George will visit Udupi and Manipal on June 23 and 24 to discuss the issue.

SP Dr Boralingaiah was also present at the press meet.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has also condemned the gang rape of an MBBS Student at Manipal and said the police department would make all efforts to nab the culprits.
