Udupi:An exceptionally talented girl and a national level athlete, studying in PU college at Brahmmavara, hanged herself on Tuesday,September.27 in the college hostel room.

Prithvi Poojary (18) had just returned from Mandya divisional level Dasara Sports Meet held on September.22, where she secured a silver medal in Javelin Throw event.

The Brahmmavara Sports Club had sponsored her studies and sports training schedules during the last one year.

She won a gold medal in Heptathlon (7 events) and silver in Javelin throw at state Junior Level Sports in Bangalore recently. She secured similar medals in South Zone sports (silver and bronze) at Hyderabad, and a bronze in Heptathlon in Bhopal at National Sports Meet. Her diary had entries to say that many sexually and mentally harassed her. The autopsy of her body at Manipal Hospital is due on September.28, Wednesday.
