Mangalore: The DK district administration in association with state Kannada and Culture department, has organised the shows of a street play named Public Awareness towards Census 2011, at various parts of the city and the district in general.
This was disclosed at the DCO to the Press media by additional Dc, Prabhakar Sharma today.
The Team of street players led by Jagan Pawar, will conduct its public shows in Mangalore city and outskirts of Kankanady, Thokkottu, Deralakattee, Kadri and such other areas to wake up common people for Census operations when enumerators go round meeting them from doors to door. The team intends to cover all important areas in suburbs and the main parts of the coastal city.
There are 8 men and 3 women in the Team with a Manager in charge. The drama explains the purpose and conducts of a large process that covers Indian population once every 10 years. The idea is to seek people’s cooperation while counting of families and heads going on with other essential details.
During the proceedings of the street play Kannada departmental officials like A.Madhava and assistant director, Ms.Mangala Nayak were present.
