Mangalore : Shatavadhani Dr.R.Ganesh was conferred with the Aerya Award 2012 at the award ceremony held at Canara College auditorium on Jan 3, Tuesday.

Delivering the felicitation speech, Dr M Prabhakar Joshi said that introducing Ganesh is a challenging job. Since it need more time to describe and tell about him. The award conferred will be meaningful if another Ganesh from the college follow him.

Litterateur Aerya Lakshminarayana Alva delivered the introductory speech on the occasion.

S S Kamath, Vice president of Canara High School Association presided over the event.

R Ganesh was felicitated with a memento, shawl, and fruit bowl and cash price of Rs 10,000.

After receiving the award, research and language expert R. Ganesh said that he has accepted the award as a part of Sanathana Dharma.

He also said that we must have happiness in whatever we work, and then we will not find any work difficult. Any work will be remembered when done in love.

Every person must have the withstanding power to prove himself. We must do our work will cool mind, since attraction and repulsion both creates stress and tension in human body, he said.

Rekhadevi proposed vote of thanks and T Indira compered the programmes.
