Bengaluru : Former Chief Minister and Gadag-Haveri MP Basavaraj Bommai said Agriculture Minister N.Cheluvarayaswamy has responded to his letter regarding the adequate supply of manure to the Haveri district and also given instructions to the agriculture department commissioner in this regard.
Recently, the former CM has written a letter to the minister concerned that the agriculture activities have begun in the district thanks to monsoon rains but there has been made rush to buy fertilizer owing to the short supply. The Haveri district required 35000 metric tonnes of DAP manure for the current season whereas the supply was just 6500 metric tonnes. The remaining 29000 metric tonnes must be released to the district. Similarly, 38000 metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer had been supplied as against the requirement of 65000 metric tonnes. Even there is short supply of compost manure.
Through the letter, the minister Cheluvarayaswamy has said that adequate steps had been taken to supply the required quantity of the fertilizer.
