Moodbidri : Alva’s Virasat 2011 showcased the magnificent performances by Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath, the renowned violin players, and Ned McGoven, the contrabass flutist from America, which gave a blend of the East and the West fusion.
Ned, American flutist played his silver-coated flute for the first time in India. His rendered the music ‘Walk With Me,’ which he composed in the Charukeshi Raga.
The audiences were attracted with the tabla performance of Pandit Ramkumar, the mrudanga performance of Vidhwan B. C. Manjunatha, the keyboard performance of M. B. Gururaj, and the ghatam performance of Giridhar Udupa.
Karnataka Bank manging director P. Jayaram Bhat, entrepreneurs Ravichandran and Jerry Crasta, Higher Education Minister Dr. V. S. Acharya; and Dr. Mohan Alva presented mementos to the artists.
