Mangalore: The South Canara District Central Co-operative Bank (SCDCC Bank) which already has several achievements to its credit, has added another feather to its cap. The Bank Chairman MN Rajendra Kumar has informed that the Bank stood first in the entire state by mobilizing a total of Rs 1317.48 crore deposits through its 55 branches in the financial year 2011-12.
Briefing reporters on the progress registered by the Bank, he said as on March 31, 2012, the Bank has recorded an all time high profit of Rs 12.77 crores. The achievements this year was higher by 22.99 percent compared to last year, he informed.
He said the Bank has advanced a total loan of Rs 1563.63 crores including R s 760.96 crore towards the agricultural sector. He also informed that all the 23 agricultural credit co-operative societies of the district have recorded 100 per cent progress in loan recovery.
He further stated that the Bank has stood first in the effective implementation of self help groups.
On this occasion, he also stated that he was ready for a bifurcation of the SCDCC Bank if the RBI permits setting up of a separate bank for Udupi district.
Vinaykumar Soorinje, Director, M Vadiraj Shetty, Sadashiv Ullal, Directors, M Gopalkrishna Bhat, and Managing Director others were present on the occasion.
