Bangalore: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa celebrated his 69th birthday on Sunday by cutting a cake in the Bapuji Nagar slum located on the Bangalore-Mysore Road.
Mr. Yeddyurappa offered puja at his residence and temples. Union Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa, several Ministers, BJP leaders and workers visited the Chief Minister’s residence on the Race Course Road and wished him. Later, the Chief Minister visited the Gali Anjaneya Temple in the city and offered special prayers.
Speaking to presspersons at his residence, Mr. Yeddyurappa urged the Union Government and other State Governments present separate budgets for agriculture. There was a need to focus on agriculture to prevent migration from rural areas to urban centre and accelerate the farm growth to ensure food security to all.
Cabinet expansion
Mr. Yeddyurappa said vacant berths in the Cabinet would be filled after the ongoing Legislative Assembly session. The date for the Cabinet expansion would be finalised after consultations with the party high command, he said.
Mr. Yeddyurappa called upon the Opposition to give constructive suggestions during the Legislature session and requested them to refrain from levelling baseless allegations. Courtesy : The Hindu
