Bantwal : Minister for Forests Ecology and Environment and Bantwal MLA Ramanath Rai, said that the government will spend more than Rs 200 crores for the development of Bantwal constituency.
Speaking at the press meet held in the city on October 8, Wednesday Rai said that the the taluk will spend Rs 125 crores for a multi village drinking water project, Rs 7 crores for KSRTC bus stand at B C Road and Rs 5 crores for Mini Vidhana Soudha.
Briefing on various projects Rai said that, Rs 125 crores has been approved for a multi village drinking water project which will cater the needs of 49 villages. The State and Central governments will share the expenditure and work is in progress.
He also said that the tender procedure for KSRTC bus stand at B C Road is completed and the project will be completed in 15 months at the cost of Rs 7.39 crore. Apart from it, the government has approved the designs for the construction of Mini Vidhana Soudha at B C Road and sanctioned the amount of Rs 5 crores for the same. The Tenders will be called soon.
The government has approved for the mobile police station on September 3 and will function very soon. Along with it the Bantwal police sub division station will also be functioning soon which will comprise of Bantwal rural, Bantwal town, Punjalkatte, Vittal, Belthangady police stations and Dharmasthala substations.
Speaking on other projects Rai said that, Polali Rajeshwari temple Car Street Junction Road will be repaired at Rs 1. 32 crore, Sornad bridge, Pane Mangalore bridge and Salethur Padekanje road will also be repaired at the cost of Rs 2.65 crores, Narahari hills road repair at Rs 33 lakhs and Bantwal circuit house at the cost of Rs 1 crore, under NABARD RIDF 19 project.
Under special tribal sub plan 2014-15, the amount of Rs 90 lakhs have been sanctioned for the repair of various roads.
Five Ambedkar Bhavans will be constructed at the cost of Rs 10 lakhs at Nandarabettu, Basthikodi, Kadambu, Kailaru and BR Road and further suitable sites will be identified for the same.
The amount of Rs 50 lakhs will be spent for the construction of additional rooms at B Mooda Government Pre University College and the amount of Rs 1.20 crore has been been kept aside for concrete work of 12 roads connecting scheduled caste and scheduled tribe colonies.
Out of the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund, government has agreed to allot Rs 5 crores to provide basic amenities within Bantwal municipal limits.
Speaking on forest conservation, Rai said that the fund of Rs 50 lakhs will be spend to plant 50,000 medicinal plants around Kavalapadur Karinjeshwara temple which has been approved. Apart from it, forest park will begin at Kalmale at 75 acres land within Rakshithamba reserved forest area with sandalwood plants at an estimate of Rs 57.40 lakhs.
A new college will be established at Kanyana and ITI at Kavalakatte in the coming year. Three Hoblis will be open three outlets for RTC and other application purposes.
The government has also approved the fund of Rs 2 crores for Ambedkar and Devraj Urs Bhavans at Bantwal. The Environmental Pollution Control Board will also launch ‘Nirmal Nagara’ project in Bantwal soon.
