Bhatkal :  The body of Moulvi Ismail Ruknuddin, an Imam of a local masjid, who had drowned on the Jaali beach on Thursday, was found at the same place on August 24, Friday. The coastal security police as well as local fishermen assisted in the task of tracing the body after an intense search in Murdeshwar and other places.

Meanwhile, several residents of Bhatkal staged a protest alleging that the coastal security police had failed to provide the much needed help in times of distress. Though the  government had sanctioned a high-speed boat, repeated call to the police following the drowning, had not been responded to for nearly two hours, they complained.
