Mangaluru: District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai on Tuesday alleged Kamalaksha Poojary, a BJP leader and former president of Gram Panchayat was responsible for supplying weapons to the inmates of Mangaluru jail which in turn led to the murder of Madoor Isubu and Ganesh Shetty on November 2, 2015.
Both the inmates were arrested about five years ago for their involvement in several cases.
With regard to the accusation by Krishna Palemar that the Congress was involved in the sand mafia, the minister said that Palemar introduced the term in the district and that he supplied sand to Kerala from Dakshina Kannada.
Rai alleged that Palemar’s accusations of him transporting sand to Bengaluru were just to damage his image.
