Mangalore : NB Aboobakker, Chairman of the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation has said that the state government was according top priority for the welfare of the minority community.
Speaking to media persons at the Circuit House in Mangalore on May 9, Wednesday, he also enlisted the various programmes initiated by the Corporation as well as the financial aid granted by it under various schemes. He also presented statistics on the government outlay for the minorities welfare in successive budgets under the BJP rule.
He said the Corporation will open its offices in 30 cities as against the seven offices it had previously, and added the offices will help to a great extent in curbing the menace of middlemen in the process of availing benefits by the beneficiaries.
He also informed that schemes worth Rs 1883.38 lakhs have been implemented on behalf of the Christian Development Board and the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation during the past three years and ten months.
