Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee organized ‘Janajagruti samavesha’ at Town Hall on July 7, Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said that BJP in Karnataka came into power by chance and not with the blessings of the people of the state.
He also said that BJP did not win with the majority of difference and gaining 110 seats is not a big achievement. Congress also would come to power joining hands with JDS, but congress did not want to do it because JDS has earlier stabbed Congress to bring Kumaraswamy to the post of Chief Minister.
He said that BJP right from the beginning has put their hands in to corruption and the Reddy brothers were busy with their mining business and spent a lot of business in the publicity and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa became a puppet in the hands of Reddy brothers, he said.
Yeddy is corrupt in nature and he thought corruption is his culture. He asked whether any BJP leaders can raise their hands boldly say that they as non-corrupt, he questioned.
Siddaramaiah said that they are no shameless people like BJP leaders in the country. The BJP leaders are involved in various scams like illegal mining, denotification and even food scam, which is being given to the poor students.
Criticizing Yeddyurappa, he said that Yeddy do not even know to use the victory symbol in front of the TV camera in the proper situation, he uses the victory symbol while entering and coming out from the jail too.
He also said that 13 MLA’s from Yeddy’s side have come out of the assembly after being involved in various scams.
The BJP party has still not appointed Lokayukta because they are scared that it would reveal other corrupt leaders name list soon. Yeddyurappa as not even fulfilled 50 percent of the assurance he made to the people of the state.
Yeddy also said to produce 10,000 mega watt of electricity and give to free to farmers, but it could hardly produce 1000 mega watt of electricity, he said. BJP’s achievement is that they have cancelled 30 lakhs of BPL cards and stopped the free treatment for them in the government hospitals. BJP people are inhuman, he said.
He said that he can prove that state government has not spent a single rupee from its treasury during the drought in the state. Today people of the state need changes to preserve the resources and people of the state, he informed.
Congress leader V.R. Sudarshan said that the development and power of the state has been stranded in various situations by the BJP government.
He said that Karnataka had good power and culture, but not it has been disappeared. The BJP has not even given the statistics of the money spent for the development, he said.
It the responsibility of the Congress party to bring changes in the power and work for the development of the country.
Congress Leader S R Patil said that BJP had urged the votes with the voters to work for the development and hence the voters brought them into power, but they did not know that they had assured them to work for their personal development.
Former Union leader B Janardhan Poojary said that congress can be strengthen only with the support of its activists and can be able to rule every situation.
