Mangalore : MLA and former minister Krishna Palemar has accused other political parties of trying to mislead the voters by giving false information regarding the BJP.
Speaking to reporters at Deepa Comforts here on March 4, Monday, Palemar said the BJP rule in the city during the past five years had spent Rs 500 crores for various developmental works while the Congress had spent an equal amount in 25 years of rule.
No MCC rule has been so significant and registered so much progress as during the BJP rule, he claimed.
He charged other political parties for falsely accusing the BJP of hiking the water tariffs while the tariff had been hiked in 2005 itself during Congress rule.
On the Congress manifesto which states that priority would be given to laying of footpaths and drainages, he said the task has already been initiated and would be completed at the earliest. He also clarified that the works had stopped some time back due to some technical glitches.
During the BJP rule steps have also been taken to see that there was not much hassles to the poor while constructing houses.
