Mangalore : Ivan D’Souza, leader of Workers Association, said that all the city, service and inter-state buses including private vehicles will be kept off the roads on October 27, Wednesday.
Speaking at the press meet held at Woodlands jointly organized by Bus Owners Association and Canara Bus Owners Association on Oct 25, Monday.
He also said that, NH 17 is the busiest highway in Karnataka and it is impossible to move on the road. When complaining, the officials are not even responding to the problems. We do not demand for big project but just need to repair the roads.
Hence the roads will be off from 6 am to 6 pm from Pumpwell to Talapady. The protester will also hold padayatra from Nanthoor to Thokkottu, which will start from 9 am. In between the yatra, the protesters will address the public.
All private vehicles will be stopped, except Ambulance, milk, school book and other essential commodities, he added.
Ivan D’Souza, president said the organization has sought support from bus owners for this proposed bus bandh.
