Mangalore : A case have been booked against Karmika Sangha leader Sudatta Jain and renowned high court advocate, P P Hegde for collecting mobile call details of DK MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and defaming him through the media and social networking site, during election.
It may be recalled that, Jain had called a press meet to reveal the statement that BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel had spoken to a lady over the phone for several hours daily and in this regard MP had lodged a complaint with city police commissioner on April 17.
In regard to the complaint, the police commissioner had investigated the matter with the cell phone service provider of Bharti Airtel, on the details of his client provided by him to the third parties without authorization.
Nalin Kumar also said that Jain and Hegde had illegally obtained call details and also posted a blurred photograph of a girl in the facebook and mentioned that Nalin had sexually exploited her by promising to provide her with the government job.
A case, under provisions of Information Technology Act has been registered against the duo.
