Belthangady: A case has been registered at the Belthangady police station against Rashtriya Hindu Jagarana Vedike President Mahesh Shetty Timarodi.
A complaint has been filed at the police station that Mahesh Shetty Timarodi made statements that raised doubts among people about the temples and caused unrest in the society during a Hindu society protection program held in Belthangady on 08-02-2025. An FIR has been registered at the police station.
‘Religion is being destroyed by an ungodly person, today the influence of ungodly people on religious places and Hindu society has increased. The time has come for us to preserve our tradition. The case has been registered on the basis of the statement that not only Dharmasthala, but also Udupi temples are being maintained with the money of ungodly people.’
Earlier, the Hon’ble Karnataka High Court, in its order WP No. 19382/2023, had ordered that no slanderous or defamatory statements should be made in public meetings and on social media about Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, his family, institutions related to the Dharmasthala and future projects. Despite this, Mahesh Shetty made statements about the Timarodi Dharmasthala, and the devotees of the Sri Kshetra have filed a complaint at the Belthangady Police Station.
