Mangalore : Addressing the media representatives at the press meet held at Information Department office on Feb 7, Monday, District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that this is the 15 census which will be held from February 9 to February 28.
He also said that, on February 28, the enumerators will hold their duty at midnight from 9pm to 12 pm for the people residing at Railway Station, Foot Paths, Bus Stand and outside roadside shops, in order to count each and every person.
Around 4807 to 5000 enumerators from various colleges, department along with police department will work for the census.
Minister also urged the public to render their support to enumerator’s top visit every house to collect the information by giving accurate information.
In case of door lock during census, the enumerators will visit the house again during the revisional round held from March 1 to March 5.
He also said that, the Mega Matsya Mela will be organized at Bangalore from Feb 18 to Feb 21 and around 3 lakhs people are expected to visit. The 140 stalls from Mangalore will take part in the exhibition and display wide varieties of creative fishes, fishes from Dakshina Kannada and live fish, he added.
Assistant Commissioner Prabhakar Sharma, PWD Superintendent B S Balakrishna, ZP CEO Shivashankar and DHO O R Rangappa were present.
