Udupi: Any legislative move by the government of Karnataka regarding Kambala will be backed by the Central government, said Law and IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad.
Speaking to the press personnel after visiting Shree Krishna Math, Udupi on Wednesday, he said that effective support will be given by the union government to Kambala.
“Our government’s stand regarding the culture and tradition of the country is clear. Legal hurdles in the matter of Kambala will be examined properly,” he said.
Further commenting on uniform civil code, he said that triple talaq questions gender equality, dignity and justice. Even many of the Islamic countries have amended the Shariat law. Why can’t here in India which is known as the secular country?
