Mangaluru: “If needed then cabinet meeting will be called and proposal will be sent for the ordinance against ban on Kambala,” said Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza.

Addressing the reporters on Sunday he said that Kambala is a traditional sport of coastal region of Karnataka. It has got its own importance.

“Rajhyothsava award has been conferred to Kambala organisers. The government has already submitted an affidavit to the High Court seeking lifting of ban on Kambala,” he said.

He further said that the government has always supported this sport. It has granted aid to organise Kambala.

Moreover, pension scheme is also introduced for those who run bulls in Kambala.
