Mangaluru : Unfettered by the State Congress Legislature Party’s recommendation to remove him from the party, senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary said he will continue criticising Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his wrong doing.
“I am yet to receive any notice from the party high command,” Mr. Poojary said and added, “None, even the party high command, can remove me from the party. This party is in my blood. I will continue to be associated with it till my last breath.” He further added that he was not the kind of person who would jump to another party for political gain.
Talking to reporters at the Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple here on Saturday, Mr. Poojary said his father, who had been associated with the party for a long time, was greatly influenced by sacrifices of Jawaharlal Nehru and his family members. He continues to be loyal to Nehru family.
Mr. Poojary said he did receive a call recently from Gulam Nabi Azad, who heads the party’s disciplinary committee. He had informed Mr. Azad about the facts that made him criticise the CM. “Is it wrong to give suggestions (to Mr. Siddaramaiah),” he asked and added that he was not worried of the likelihood of being thrown out of the party.
It was sad to hear that senior leader C.K. Jaffer Sharief and Kumar Bangarappa were leaving the party. Many Congress party men would desert the party, he said.
