Haveri (Shiggaon): Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai stated that the path of development in Shiggaon must continue, harmony must be maintained, and the police Raj must end.
Addressing a massive BJP gathering in Shiggaon on Sunday, he said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is now visiting every village in the constituency. ” I challenge the ministers and MLAs to release the list of works they have done in their constituencies, and I will release the list of development works in mine.”
He said People from Belagavi are calling to inform him that their MLA has disappeared without doing any development in the constituency. The minister in charge here has not even inaugurated the textile park or the bus depot that they had constructed.
Bommai said Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan has claimed not a single house was built. In Shiggaon-Savanur, the minister haven’t provided even one house. The houses which he had sanctioned have been halted by Zameer. The Congress government is against the poor, and their curse will reach them.
The MP said the BJP farmer leader B.S. Yediyurappa provided free power supply to farmers IP sets. He used to provide diesel subsidies, which has been stopped. When floods occurred, the previous BJP government provided double the compensation. While the central government provided Rs. 6,300 for dryland farming, they gave Rs. 13,600, and Rs. 25,000 for irrigated land. Now, floods have struck, and this government haven’t even started a survey. It must become active and provide relief to the affected farmers.
Bommai said the Congress government has diverted the Rs. 24,000 crore ST/STP funds allocated for Scheduled Castes and Tribes for your guarantees, and not given any funds to backward class corporations. The Congress leaders looted the funds of the Valmiki Corporation. The community hall in Ambedkar Colony, the statue of Ambedkar, and the Kanakadasa Palace were constructed by him. This demonstrates his respect and devotion to Saint Kanakadasa. Yediyurappa allocated Rs. 40 crore for the development of Kaginele and developed the village of Shishunala Sharif.
He warned that clubs are being built and teachers are being targeted for extortion. “A candidate who lost the Assembly election is now collecting hafta. If he is elected again, there will be more hardships ahead. Elect Bharat Bommai, and he will protect you”.
