Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district reported 83 new corona cases and Udupi district reported 28 corona cases on Tuesday July 7.
As per health bulletinon of the 83 who tested positive on Tuesday, 59 are males and 24 females, including 5 children. Among the 75 new patients, tow have returned from Chikkamagaluru, 20 are diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI), one is diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and 50 are primary and secondary contacts of earlier patients. Contact tracing process of three patients is on, three are random samples, three pre-surgery samples and three pre-surgery samples before delivery.
A total 99 patients were discharged from Wenlock and other private hospitals on Tuesday, 683 persons have recovered and been discharged so far. Three patients are currently in ICU. 21,881 samples have been sent for tests so far. As many as 20,036 have turned out negative, and 1,359 are positive till date. Out of these, 650 cases are currently active. As many as, and 26 deaths have occurred so far, including two non-COVID deaths.
Udupi district reported 28 corona cases on Tuesday, of 28 are primary contacts, two each have travel history to Maharashtra and Mangaluru, four have travelled from Bengaluru, one each from Tumakuru and Dubai, and 12 are contacts of earlier patients, and contact tracing of six is under process.
Kasaragod district on Tuesday reported 13 Coronavirus cases. Of these, eight are from abroad and two are from Bangalore. Similarly, two women who returned to Mangalore and a pregnant woman who stayed in Mangalore tested positive returned homein Kasaragod.
