Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district reported 314 fresh coronavirus cases and 11 deaths, Udupi district reported 251 new cases and one death on Wednesday August 26.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, the 314 new cases, 88 are primary contacts, 129 have influenza-like illness (ILI), 19 have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI), and 78 cases are under investigation. As many as 158 out of the 314 are asymptomatic.
A total of 87,945 samples have been tested so far, 11,092 positive cases out of which 76,853 are negative. a total 2,339 are currently active.
As many as 8,423 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 296 on Wednesday which include 2 from Covid care centres, 245 from home isolation and 49 from hospitals. A total of 330 deaths have occurred so far, including 11 on Wednesday.
All the 11 patients who died on Wednesday had comorbidities. While Mangaluru reported four deaths, one death was reported from Bantwal, and six deaths was reported from district outside DK.
Udupi district reported 251 new cases and one death. on Wednesday August 26.
As per the health bulletin, the 251 new cases, 110 are in Udupi, 81 in Kundapur, 84 in Karkala, and six from outside the district. Among them, 114 acquired the virus through contacts, 45 have ILI, one have been diagnosed with SARI, and 90 are under investigation. One patient has domestic travel history. Out of the 251 cases, 187 are asymptomatic.
A total of 6,346 people are in COVID hospitals, including 118 fresh admissions on Wednesday, while a total of 4,351 people are in home isolation, including 133 new on Wednesday.
As many as 246 on have been discharged from isolation Wednesday. These include 5,210 from hospital isolation wards, and 2,773 from home isolation.
A total of 67,818 samples have been collected so far, including 1,124 on Wednesday, out of which 572 are COVID suspects and 270 are COVID contacts. Out of the total samples, 56,383 have turned out to be negative, including 1,037 on Wednesday.
