Mangaluru : M.N. Rajendra Kumar, President of Dakshina Kannada Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., said here on Saturday that the bank will make maximum efforts for the effective implementation of the Weather-Based Crop Insurance scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

He was addressing a meeting of chief executive officers of primary agricultural credit cooperative societies in the bank.

The president said that all eligible farmers should enrol for the two schemes by this month-end.

H R Nayak, Deputy Director, Department of Horticulture participated in the meeting.
