Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada reported 8 new coronavirus postive cases and 11 cases were reported in Udupi district on Tuesday June 23.

As per the district health bulletin, 188 are currently active cases under treatment. As many as 256 persons have recovered and been discharged, a total of 12,251 samples have been sent for tests, out of which 11,619 have turned out negative, and 463 positive, till date.

A 56-year-old man is serious and being treated in ICU.  As many as 286 samples were sent for testing on Tuesday. Reports of 142 samples were received on Tuesday, out of which 8 tested positive and the rest negative.

In Udupi district total 11 people including four children tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

The seven are males and four females. Five are Maharashtra returnees, two have travelled from Kuwait, one each from Dubai and Saudi Arabia, one has contracted infection from P-2047, and the source of infection of one more patient is being traced.
