Mangalore : The Congress party must be renovated and must come to power again and pull down BJP which is based on caste and religion, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr G Parameshwar.

He was speaking after inaugurating the party workers’ convention held at Town hall on November 30, Tuesday. He also said that, the congress had worked to protect every poor, unemployed and uneducated of the country and worked to give them their right.
The party always supported equality among all the religion and its principles has saved the nation, he claimed. Congress party had struggled to gain Independence to the country before Independence and now working for the future development of the country, he added.

Congress in its 5 year plans has made achievements in the country in the field health, industry and railway. He grieved over the fact that internal clashes have damaged the party’s image. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s effort in laying the foundation for the five year plan has made a way for the recent developments. One who blames Congress for not doing the developmental works is the fools. Congress is the other name of sacrifice. Indira Gandhi sacrificed a lot for the country’s welfare and security and not to purchase the lands in the families’ names unlike CM B S Yeddyurappa, he said.

The BJP government in the state he said to be the worst governance in the history of the State. He said that saree distribution is not an achievement and Yeddyurappa in the four budgets presented so far has not given any stable developmental schemes.
Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council Motamma, said that Indira Gandhi has given various chances to women. Further the party must protect its activists who are the precious property and in turn the activists must work for the development of the party, she said.

Former Opposition Leader in Legislative Council V S Ugrappa, said that If the people of Dakshina Kannada make up their mind, they can bring down BJP Government, in 24 hours. But the members of the party must not forget that, politics is a symbol of sacrifice.
President of the event, Veteran Congress leader Janardan Poojary said that he is proud of Justice Santhosh Hegde who belongs to Dakshina Kannada district. He said that if no one supports Hegde in his work, he will be his backbone. Today Swamiji’s are busy working for the publicity of the government than fulfilling their duties. They are the real dacoits he criticized.

Newly appointed Block Congress Committee (BCC) presidents from Dakshina Kannada district were felicitated on the occasion by Dr G Parameshwar.
MLA Ramanath Rai welcomed the guests and gathering. He said that Congress is working to give chance for sincere youths.
