Udupi : In a shocking development, well-known entrepreneur from here, Alex Lewis (45), who also was an accomplished cricketer and organizer, committed suicide in Bengaluru.

Alex, who was a resident of Bolargudde in Udyavar, was operating his DNA Home Theatre business, and was residing at Bengaluru.

Sources said that he killed himself on the evening of Wednesday, January 22.

Alex was a skilled cricketer. He had encouraged and inspired several talented young cricketers. A few years back, he had taken the lead in organizing national level floodlit cricket tournament at Udyavar here. Besides being involved with cricket, he had developed his business and given employment to many people. He was simple and straight forward, and gelled with others well.

He has left behind wife, Seema, and children, Aaron, Aldon and Darren.
