Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Tuesday, July 14 issued guidelines for the week-long lockdown in the district.
The Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to impose a lockdown in the district from 8 pm on July 15 to 5 am on July 23.
Shops selling essentials including milk, groceries, meat, and vegetables, would be permitted to open from 8 am to 11 am in the city and outskirts during the lockdown. Religious places will be closed for public, no religious meetings can be held, theatre, shopping mall, gyms, stadiums, parks, swimming pools, bars, wine shops and auditorium will not function. Further, taxis, auto-rickshaws and cab services will not function except vehicles used for emergency services.
All bars, malls, wine shops, commercial establishments, private offices and companies will have to be completely shutdown. Banks, ATM service, newspaper, internet, cable services, e-commerce for medicines, food and medical supply will not be affected.
Containment zones will be completely sealed.
All public and private transportation will be prohibited except for freight vehicles.
