Udupi: Ranjeetha M.B., mother of Kannada film star Ramya, arrived here on Monday to canvass for Congress candidate, JP Hegde, and on Tuesday went round several areas of the town, asking voters to cast their votes for Congress in the (MP) by-poll.

She told newsmen that she was Vive-president of Mahila Congress long back, and during last elections she had joined(present Lok Sabha speaker) Meira Kumar in a campaign. People will reject BJP for its corrupt governance during this by-poll, she added.

She also told that if the district Congress leaders so wish, film artiste Ramya would herself come to Udupi to Campaign for Congress.
