Mangalore: A 50-year-old woman from Kasba in Bantwal taluk, died of Covid-19 on Sunday  at around 9.15 am in Mangalore Wenlock hospital. It is the first victim of Covid-19 infection in Dakshina Kannada.

The woman was admitted to Wenlock Hospital Saturday evening with a  breathing problems. She was in In intensive care, she not responded to treatment, said district commissioner in the evening.

The patient was diagnosed with Covid-19 infection. The funeral will be held under the guidance of the Health Department officials as per the medical protocol, the district commissioner said.
