Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court (Justice L. Narayanaswamy) has granted on Thursday morning an anticipatory bailment, to a troubled former CM (BJP) B.S.Yeddyurappa in a graft case relatd to a tender he had approved in Upper Bhadra irrigation canal project, during his 3-year tenure(2008-11), which he faced now. Yeddy was asked to furnish a bond of Rs.1 lakh. The Judge asked him not to leave the country, but co-operate with the investigating agencies. The complaint had been filed by JD-S leader Y.S.V. Datta. The Lokayukta had begun his investigation in to the complaint, whereupon Yeddy sought the anticipatory bail.
Datta alleged that BJP leader and family members had benifitted by Rs.13 crores from a private firm on being awarded the contract despite being not the lowest bidder. Yeddy feared arrest in the case, as a division bench had gone against him
