Mangaluru: Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi has opined that there should not be any gender discrimination for entering and offering pooja in any temple.
Ragini who came to the city to promote her recent Kannada movie `Terrorist`, visited Mangaladevi temple and offered pooja on Sunday evening, October 21. After the pooja, she spoke to the reporters and responded to a query with regard to the ongoing agitation against the entry of women of all ages into Sabarimala temple.
She said, “it is not fair to oppose women from entering the temple citing some reasons like customs and traditions. As it is not the right time to enter the religious centers during the menstruation time, no women will enter the temple during their menstrual period. In the remaining time, she should not be prevented from entering the temple. As there is no discrimination on devotion, one should not put any restriction on women on entering any temple.“
Meanwhile, expressing her support to `Me Too movement. “If a woman was sexually harassed by any person, he should be punished. It is a good development that many victims of sexual harassment are now daring to reveal it in public. If Sruthi Hariharan says that she was harassed by somebody, there may be some truth. She is a sensible girl, she won’t speak nonsense in this issue. However, one should not take the advantage of this `Me Too` movement and should not place baseless allegation against anybody“, she said.
