Bangalore: Gopal B. Hosur, who worked on Coastal region as IGP(Western Range) before being transferred to Bangalore, a senior rank police officer, had a narrow escape at Kunigal outskirts. When his car had a collision with a truck, at the Chottanahalli by-pass on the national highway, in Tumkur district last Sunday(March11).
The former City Police Commissioner of Mangalore, holding additional charge, as IGP and now heading state Intelligence unit, had the fright of his life, when the truck rammed into his car, when he was returning to Bangalore from Udupi after an inspection visit concerning Udupi-Chikkam by-poll to Lok Sabha.
Luckily, neither GB Hosur, nor his car driver was hurt. But his gunman sustained severe injuries, and was taken to Bangalore for medical attention.
The Kunigal police arrested the truck driver, and filed a case against him for rash and dangerous driving.
