Mangalore: Ganesha Chaturthi was celebrated grandly in Mangalore on September 19, Wednesday. If several households worshipped Lord Ganesha by installing his idols at their home, there are several more Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava celebrations in Mangalore, prominently at Nehru Maidan, Bunts Hostel and at the Sanghaniketan.

The idol of Lord Ganesha was installed in pandals and households. The installation ceremony of the Lord Ganesha worshipped at Omkarnagar, Bunts Hostel Grounds on behalf of the Taluk Bunts Sangha Mangalore and Buntara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha Mangalore in association with various other social organizations was held in a grand manner.

Dr Sathish Bhandary, Dean of KS Hegde Medical Hospital, inaugurated the function held at AB Shetty Hall. Bunt leader Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, Kadri Navaneeth Shetty, Manjunath Bhandary, Jagannath Shetty Bala, Nitteguthu Raviraj Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
