New Delhi: Harsh Kumar Rai, a NRI young engineer from Puttur in DK district, received the prestigious Bharat Samman(honour)award for 2011 at a hotel in New Delhi for his technical achievements in international field, on Thursday evening.
Dr. Iqbal Singh, Governor of Puducherry, former speaker Dr. Balaram Jakhar, former CBI director Joginder Singh and many other distinguished guests were present. The British High Commissioner to India, James Bevan, hosted a party for delegates for NRI Day on the occasion.
Harsh Rai is working in Oman for a US-based multi-national engineering consultancy as an infrastructure engineer. He is an expert form coastal Karnataka in roads, fly-avers and infrastructural technology. He was a rank-holder in B.E. at state level in Karnataka. He worked on several projects in Bangalore and many countries around Arabian Gulf, before reaching Oman.
