Kasargod :  The 12 hour hartal call given by the CPI(M) led LDF   brought life to a standstill in Kasargod on July 10, Wednesday. The  strike call was given seeking resignation of Chief Minister Oomen Chandy in connection with the solar scandal.

Buses were off the roads and only a few number of private vehicles were on the road. Almost all schools, shops and hotels downed shutters.

People were left stranded in bus stands and railway station as they were unaware of the strike.

It may be recalled here that Chief Minister Chandy has rejected allegations against him.It has been alleged that several persons were cheated to the tune of crores of rupees by Saritha Nair and her accomplice Biju Radhakrishnan by offering to get them solar panel solutions. The two  along with actress Shalu Menon have been arrested in this connection.
