Jammu: A man from Kishtwar town of Jammu and Kashmir was arrested Friday for allegedly sending the email claiming that Wednesday’s blast at the Delhi High Court was carried out by the Harkat-ul-Jehadi-Islami.
The man, identified as Mohammad Sayeed, was arrested from Kishtwar, about 230 km from Jammu by state police Friday afternoon. He is being questioned.
He admitted that he had sent the email from Global Internet Cafe in the town.
Other details are awaited.
The police had detailed five people, including two owners of the internet cafe and two students of Degree College, Kishtwar, in connection with the email that was sent a few hours after the high-intensity blast in New Delhi that claimed 13 lives and left more than 90 injured.
‘We are still investigating and trying to reach a conclusion about the motives and the men behind the man who sent the mail,’ a senior police official told Reporters.
A three-member team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that is handling the case arrived in Kishtwar town Friday morning to oversee the investigations into the blast case.
