Bengaluru : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated that he has no fear and will not resign. “I have come from struggle politics, and I will defeat your conspiracy,” he warned BJP-JDS.
Speaking after inaugurating the state’s first natural gas-based 370 MW combined cycle power plant in Yelahanka, he said, “Are you waiting for me to resign? You are conspiring to bring me down who has done nothing wrong. This is impossible.”
The Chief Minister openly challenged the BJP-JDS alliance, saying, “I come from struggle politics, and I will defeat your conspiracy.”

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Karnataka should become self-sufficient in power generation for economic and social progress of the state.GDP will grow if there is growth in agriculture and industrial sector.
The CM explained that agriculture, industries and housing require huge amounts of electricity. Employment is created through agricultural and industrial development. Employment drives GDP growth. So we are in the direction of being fully self-sufficient in power generation. This power generation unit has been inaugurated as part of this objective.
Rs. 1500 crore worth of electricity is sold outside the state. Last year there was no rain leading to drought. Even during the drought, we supplied the required electricity, the CM said.
The CM said that target is set to produce 60000 MW of electricity by 2030 which has been announced in the budget. Electricity consumption and demand is increasing year by year. In addition to this, we have increased production and have become self-sufficient. He also said that progress has been achieved to the level of selling electricity outside.
The CM recalled that foundation for the Yalahanka power plant was laid then by their government and inaugurated now by the same government.
Bonus Announcement
On the same occasion, the CM announced a bonus of Rs 5000 to all the workers who worked hard for the establishment of Yalahanka Power Plant. He added that efforts are made to reduce the noise of the power plant.
DCM DK Shivakumar, Energy Minister KJ George, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh, Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao, KKRDB Chairman Ajay Singh, Yelahanka MLA Vishwanath, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Govindaraju, Naseer Ahmed, Legislative Council Member Prakash Rathod and Senior officials were present.
