Kempe gowda Bengaluru :  Congress may be a single party but it has four different fronts with several frontrunners for the CM’s post, said Revenue Minister R Ashoka.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Mr Ashoka said, “As far as I know, there used to be one Congress party in the State. However, after Mr DK Shivakumar took over as the president of KPCC, he created the second front. Now, leaders from backward classes are uniting under Dr G Parameshwara’s leadership to form the third front. Now, former minister MB Patil is forming the fourth front. Out of these four, two have already reached the Delhi high command while two others are in the process of reaching. While there are multiple aspirants for the CM’s post in Congress, there is only one undisputed leader for BJP and that is Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.”

Nutrition kits to malnourished children
Mr Ashoka said that Karnataka has turned out to be a model state in controlling Covid situation in the country. “We are already gearing up with a roadmap to tackle the possible third wave. We have begun a survey of malnourished children. These children will be identified by a team of pediatricians (including ASHA and Anganawadi workers) who will visit villages across the State to identify malnourished children and supply them with nutrition food kits including Badam powder, milk powder, biscuits, multi-vitamin syrup, mask and a dettol soap. Funds will be released under the disaster management fund and I have already instructed all the deputy commissioners to take up this survey.”

Food kits distributed
Nadaprabhu Kempegowda was a visionary. As there was no perennial river near Bengaluru, he developed lakes across Bengaluru to cater to the drinking water and irrigation needs, said Revenue Minister R Ashoka after garlanding the statue of Kempegowda at Kumaraswamy layout. Later, he distributed food kits to drivers of earth excavators and tractors.

Food kits were also distributed to the Madivala community and a lunch programme was organised at the MLA’s office in Padmanabhanagar constituency on Monday.
