Mangalore : Indian Overseas Bank with Head Office in Chennai, is entering its 75th year. The Bank had a tremendous growth in 2010-11 in deposits and advances.
IOB global business reached Rs.2.37 lakh crores. An year long celebration of the Platinum Jubilee has been planned and launched in Feb201 with an impressive show out at Delhi.
The Bank has opened 75 branches and 75 ATMs on 10-02-2011. 75 villages were adopted by IOB under a Scheme for total (Sampurna) development. It has issued green credit cards to farmers.
There are several schemes launched by IOB such as Bhumilaxmi and Agri-Jewel loan. Under financial inclusion in national economy for citizens, the Bank got 1273 villages for helping the natives.
IOB has received the prestigious Skoch Financial Inclusion award for 2011, given for poverty alleviation and for promoting inclusive growth.
