Mangalore : The International Society for Krishna Consciousness organised the 9th annual Shri Shri Krishan Balarama Ratha Yatra in city on Feb 25 Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Stoka Krishna Dasa said that Ratha Yatra is being held on the day on which Lord Krishna and his elder brother Balarama visit devotees conveying the brotherhood, secularism, and harmony. It also provides an opportunity to devotees to have a darshan of Lord Krishna and Balarama, he added.
Corporation Bank chairman and managing director Ajay Kumar, inaugurated the Ratha Yatra displaying deities of Sri Krishna – Balaram, decorated with flowers and jewelries by showering petals of flowers on Lord Krishna, he drew the chariot with the help of other devotees.
The procession commenced at City Centre, and the entire ritual was presided over by Madhupandit Dasa, the president of ISKCON in Bangalore and the chairman of the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
The prasadam was distributed by volunteers among the devotees throughout the yatra.
Devotees from Kerala,Bangalore,Hubli,Hassan,Bellary,Mysore took part in the Ratha Yatra festival.
