Mangaluru: Puttur ACJA court has granted bail to Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) leader Jagadish Karanth here on Saturday. Earlier, the court had granted interim bail to the leader inconnection with his alleged insulting remarks against Sampya Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Abdul Khader in a protest meeting here in Puttur recently.
The police registered a case against Karanth for his remarks during his speech and arrested him in Bengaluru airport on November 30. Karanth was managed to get interim bail on the same day within hours of his arrest. A hearing on his interim bail was held on November 3 and the hearing was once again postponed to October 4. The hearing on the case was continued on October 4 and 6 also. Finally, Justice Kishan B Madalagi released his order on the case here on Saturday.
