Mangalore : JD(S) leader M C Nanaiah said that the recent attack on Morning Mist Home Stay by the activists of Hindu Jagarana Vedike was informed to police in advance.
He was speaking at the press meet at held Circuit House on August 21, Tuesday. He also said that, the government must investigate the telephonic conversation records held between the activists and the police at 6:30 p.m. before the home stay attacked.
He also said that, when the police knew about the attack to be taken place in advance, they had no right to register cases against reporters for not informing them with 6 different cases.
If media would have delayed their presence during the incident, the police would have charged false complaint of drug abuse and prostitution against the students.
He criticized Home Minister R.Ashoka for his failure to charge Goonda Act against the attackers and District-in-charge Minister C. T. Ravi for his statements regarding the birthday party in the home stay.
He also condemned the statement given by C. Manjula, chairperson of the State Women’s Commission and calling it as rave party. He said that the lady who is supposed to help the women in distress is blaming women during their difficulties is wrong.
